Hometown: Wallingford CT
I live with: My husband Wilder and two dogs, Sophie and Maxine, who are also my paralegals.
Tell us about the work you do. How did you wind up here?
I am a business lawyer. I ended up going to law school because I couldn’t think of what else to do, but it turned out to agree with me. I became a business lawyer because it seemed like the coolest practice area.
What did you want to be when you were a little kid? How does that play into the work you do now?
I don’t remember having any career ambitions. I am sure I wanted to be a mommy, and I admired my teachers very much. Especially Miss Corcoran, who had long red nails. That does not play into what I do now. My nails are usually bare.
What problems do you solve for your clients?
I help my clients understand proposed business transactions and contracts so that they can make good, well-informed decisions. I take the mystery out of legal jargon.
Tell us the best part of what you do.
I find it very satisfying to provide expert, efficient legal services and to add significant value in so doing.
What’s your personal motto or mantra?
Be patient, be kind.
Who’s your role model?
JK Rowling. Or maybe Doris Goodwin.
Where’s your favorite place to relax?
In front of the fire with my husband, my dogs, close family and friends, and a glass of wine.
Tell us a favorite accomplishment.
Turning all of the household cooking over to my husband, who is a very good, creative cook.
