Tell us about the work you do. How did you wind up here? I am a fitness coach and own a private fitness studio in Darien, CT called Goodfit. I specialize in working with men and women in their 50 and 60’s, I create custom workouts for each client.

I started in the fitness industry when my son was 6 months old teaching mommy and me classes, (he is now 29). I then taught exercise classes at the Fairfield YMCA which led me to the Greenwich Y as a Fitness and Wellness Director. Years later I worked in Darien at Integrated Therapies which led to opening Goodfit.

What did you want to be when you were a little kid? How does that play into the work you do now? When I was very young I wanted to be a teacher and was always interested in playing sports. I remember the presidential awards in gym class I passed every time and was so proud! As I got older I was interested in business and majored in marketing. My fitness career was never planned it just seemed to be a natural fit for me. Teaching, business and exercise – it all makes me happy.

What problems do you solve for your clients? I try to help my clients figure out what is the right exercise routine for them. Everyone is different and so are their workouts. By listening to what goals they want to accomplish, I can create a custom workout that can be successfully executed for a very long time.

Tell us the best part of what you do. Changing people’s lives! It’s therapy for the mind and the body. When you physically feel better your whole person feels better. Life gets easier.

What’s your personal motto or mantra? Just do it! Yes I stole it!

Who’s your role model? I do not have a specific role model but when I see older people extremely active, feeling good, living a full life it makes me feel that I want to be like that when I grow up! I have an 87 year old client who is a rock star completely active with her mind and her body, she is a great example.

Where’s your favorite place to relax? I love to travel and go to a friend’s place in Arizona every year,. I love the pace (very different than CT) and the desert makes me feel spiritual and relaxed.

Tell us a favorite accomplishment. My kids! I could not be more proud, it is my best job.
